About the MBI-GS Assessment

The Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) is the most widely used and scientifically validated tool for measuring burnout. Developed by Christina Maslach and Susan E. Jackson in 1981, the General Survey version (MBI-GS) is designed for a broad range of occupations and has been used in thousands of research studies worldwide.

  • Emotional Exhaustion: Core dimension. Measures feelings of being emotionally overextended and exhausted by one's work.
  • Cynicism (Depersonalization): Reflects an indifferent or distant attitude toward work, losing interest and engagement.
  • Professional Efficacy (Personal Accomplishment): Assesses feelings of competence and successful achievement in one's work.
